Everyone in the workplace has an important part to play in fire safety, even if they do not have an official role. This course is aimed at providing the necessary knowledge to enable all staff to keep themselves and their workplace safe.

About this Course

'Over one-third of UK employees say that have not received appropriate training from their employer. And the recent survey by IronmongeryDirect of 100 employees also found that many employees did not know what they should do if the fire alram sounded.'

All premises are legally required by the Fire Safety Regulations (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to provide information, instruction and training to employees about fire precautions in the workplace.

Aims

    • To understand the requirements of Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
    • To be aware of the important points for consideration during a fire safety risk assessment
    • To understand appropriate fire detection system for different premises

Objectives

    On completion of this module you will understand:

    • fire, its source, spread and safety requirements,
    • the importance of fire safety and management,
    • how to carry out a fire risk assessment and
    • how to make recommendations for any corrective actions as the result of a fire risk assessment.
